I have been working with Sarah since I moved to Brooklyn 6 years ago. Throughout the years, she has helped me manage serious back and neck pain that is the result of stress, too much computer time, and old athletic injuries. For awhile I tried an MD pain management practice, and I’m sorry to say I was throwing money away compared to the benefits of Sarah’s practice. Her level of skill is remarkable, and her advice on integrating allied therapies is fantastic. For instance, she also hooked me up with a great acupuncturist! I work for the United Nations and have had massage all over the world. Sarah is by far the best. But, alas, now I am spoiled by her and everyone else leaves me wanting more. —Kristina K

Sarah is a fantastic massage therapist. As an aging athlete, getting a massage on a regular basis has become an important part of my overall care. Sarah’s skill, knowledge and guidance have been key in helping me deal with many sports injuries over the years, manage back pain and stay active. —Kathy G

5 stars, and it is only 5 because this is the maximum! I have worked with Sarah for 3 years now. She is not only an incredibly gifted therapist, her energy and aura are healing by itself. Sarah masters different techniques and establishes such a sync with you that she knows exactly how to mix all of them in what you need, as you need. In these 3 years, no single treatment has been the same! every single time she will make sure to understand what you need in that very moment and give it to you. I have a chronic illness and Sarah is a main component of allowing me to live life, I cannot recommend her enough, you will enjoy the massage, enjoy the energy and enjoy the person! —Sofia C

As a Holistic Nurse, I value expert care and healing presence. A.U.G are masters in this approach to wellness. Sarah Falkner is a professional healer, she brings many modalities to her massage table. The experience is life changing. Highly recommended! —Pattie T

Sarah in my experience (and I’ve been rubbed by dozens in my life!) is an exceptionally talented and sensitive massage therapist---her knowledge about the human body is remarkable and the way she integrates “allied” therapies.

Sarah Falkner graduated from the Swedish Institute in NYC and has been a NY State-licensed massage therapist since 1998. She also possesses a BFA in painting from Indiana University, and prior to pursuing her healing arts vocation, worked in non-profit arts administration. She remains an active artist and writer.

In addition to a comprehensive clinical massage training at the Swedish Institute and continuing education courses with certified providers, Sarah has also completed several apprenticeships and initiatory trainings with both indigenous and nontraditional shamans and folk-healing practitioners; she is also a certified Reiki master, and teacher of Realization Process embodiment and meditation.

With a view of healing practices as being both art and science, personal and communal, embodied and transpersonal, Falkner’s practice is grounded in the western medical model of anatomy and physiology, but informed by energetic models such as Chinese medicine and Ayurveda; integrative healing traditions such as alchemy and European folk wiseperson herbalism; and a variety of contemporary syncretic spiritual healing systems including Peruvian curanderismo and Tibetan-Nepali shamanism.

As both practitioner and patient, Sarah has found combined bodywork therapies to have immediate, profound benefits and very direct, effective, and efficient ways of achieving and maintaining healing and wellness on many levels.

Sarah strives to offer highly-personalized sessions to a diverse clientele, and seeks to nurture each client’s sense of their own needs and preferences.

Sarah is dedicated to making bodywork therapies an integral component of accessible and anti-oppressive healthcare and wellness for all, and towards that end happily participates in alternative economic strategies such as mutual aid, barter, and sliding-scale fees; as well as skillshares.

Sarah is a cofounder of AUG Massage Therapy Collective as well as a provider for the Rock Dove Collective, and co-founder of Hudson’s Collaborative Healing Arts Clinic and Roots, Runners, Rhizomes Health & Healing Collective
